From Dante’s stay in Treviso to the church dedicated to the patron saint of theologians and philosophers, from the Napoleonic desecration to the adventurous rediscovery of its frescoes during the Second World War, the Santa Caterina convent complex is part of the vibrant heart of history, culture, civilisation and beauty that makes Treviso one of Italy’s hidden artistic gems.
Home to collections ranging from archaeology to the picture gallery, and captivating in both its architecture and atmosphere, Santa Caterina Museum lies at the heart of the city centre and welcomes visitors in the true Treviso spirit: with grace, warmth and elegance.
The Santa Caterina complex invites visitors to step inside and explore, with traces of its fascinating history to be found throughout, including:
14th- and 15th-century frescoes in the deconsecrated church, including the remarkable Cycle of Saint Ursula by Tomaso da Modena, originally created for the Church of Santa Margherita degli Eremitani.
Picture Gallery, located in the Manica Lunga on the first floor, featuring medieval, Renaissance and modern art.
Archaeological Section, on the ground and basement floors, housing a wealth of artefacts documenting more than 100,000 years of the history of the Treviso area, from prehistoric times to the Roman period.
OPENING HOURS
Daily (except Mondays): 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (ticket office closes at 5:30 p.m.)
BOOKING INFORMATION
Choose the date and time, select the rate that suits you, and proceed with payment. On the day of your visit go to the Ticket Office and show your voucher. You will not have to print it, just show it from your smartphone.
For reduced tickets you may be asked to verify your entitlement to the reduction.
